BEST PAID ARE HAPPIEST ABOUT LIFE IN WELLINGTON
A survey on how Kiwis rate their quality of life shows Wellingtonians with a well-paid job are the happiest. The Business Council for Sustainable Development issued the results from an online survey of 1066 respondents.
96% of Wellngtonians said their quality of life was good, very good or excellent, the same as in Auckland and Dunedin. However for the "very good" or "excellent" categories, Wellington polled the highest at 68%.
Wellingtonians have historically enjoyed the highest average weekly income, and the city has been trading the top spot with Auckland in the past few years.
The results were no surprise to Wellington Mayor, Kerry Prendergast. "Why wouldnt they be happy? They live in the best city in the country."
